20 years of experience in the precious metals recycling industry
Our facilities in Drochow and Lauchhammer process a yearly volume of several hundred tons of material, from which we extract several hundred kilograms of precious metals, like platinum, palladium, gold and silver. As such metals, in their role as high-tech resources, represent essential components not only of catalytic converters in the automobile and chemistry industries but also indispensible elements of electrical products, medical technology and fuel cells, our recycling services contribute significantly to the resource security of developed industries.
Employees of ReMetall Deutschland can draw on over 20 years of experience in metal recycling. As early as 1996, the then 4-year-old cable recycling precursor venture to ReMetall, began recycling catalytic converters in Drochow, making it one of the first European companies in the business. Extensive knowledge of the market, highly refined methods and leadership through innovation, have since then been the guiding principles of our success. The company ReMetall Česká republika s.r.o. is the exclusive representative of ReMetall Deutschland AG on the Czech market since 2017.
480 ounces of platinum are obtained by ReMetall from an average of 10 tons of old catalysts. The process from separation to refining, the recovery of platinum as a secondary raw material, is closed in a few days and only a fraction of the energy is consumed.
The recycling of precious metals is from an economic point of view not only meaningful, but also usable for additional production. The recycling of precious metals ensures the supply of platinum, palladium and rhodium even in countries poor in raw materials. It reduces emissions, gases harmful to the air and thus protects the environment.
